Anthony Quinn is a small bay with emerald waters 20km south of Rhodes Town. The beach was named after the famous actor because rumour has it that this particular cove was Quinn’s favourite back in the 60s when he spent time in Rhodes while filming the all-time classic film, The Guns of Navarone.

Elli Beach

Elli certainly isn’t among the most pristine beaches in Rhodes as it is situated right in the heart of Rhodes Town but this is actually its great advantage as well. A fully organized sandy beach with all amenities, Elli lies within easy walking distance from pretty much everywhere in Rhodes Town.

Prassonisi

Prassonisi is perhaps the most exotic beach in Rhodes. It is in essence a narrow stretch of land that creates two separate beaches, both of which are sandy with crystal clear waters. Prassonisi is located 85km south of Rhodes Town but it’s well worth a visit for its absolutely impressive scenery.

That said, the number 1 reason to visit Prassonisi is surfing. During the summer months, especially July and August when strong north winds blow in the Aegean Sea, Prassonisi becomes heaven on earth for windsurfers and kite-surfers from all over the world. You can hire surfing boards and other equipment on the beach itself.

An amazing way to visit a couple or more of the best beaches in Rhodes is by joining a full-day boat tour from Rhodes Town.
